Fauzia Kalsoom Rana – Founder WJAP
Fauzia Kalsoom Rana is a senior Broadcast media journalist and works with Dawn Tv and Radio Pakistan as an Anchor in news and Current Affairs Chanel Islamabad. She is Founder and first Convener of Women Journalists Association of Pakistan National Press Club and she was elected as Joint Secretary of National Press Club, Islamabad in 2018. She was part of elected body of National press as an Executive Member of Governing body National Press Club Islamabad. She remained as an elected member of Bi-annual Meeting (BDM) member of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists-PFUJ since 2013-2022.
Fauzia reports on human rights issues especially those related to women pointing out the mindset behind gender and religion based discriminations. She Hosts a Current Affairs show at Radio Pakistan focusing national and international issues. She remained with senior Journalist Munizae Jahangir as an Associate producer in Aaj Tv and now a day’s works with Dawn Tv in Nadia Mirza team.
She is a Media Consultant, Blog Writer, and a leadership trainer attached with Women Learning Partnership (WLP), a network of women leaders in Muslim world.
She is also media trainer and has conducted several trainings for ICMPD, Group Development Pakistan, Baidari etc.
She is a peace leader and successfully completed her projected with GNMI in 2022.
She was part of first National Media fellowship of UNFPA, NCSW and IBA in 2020.She has participated in several radio and television shows. She hosted a weekly web show “Hasher Nasher” on DBTV and participated as an expert in several radio shows.
She was among the main organizers of three national conferences of women in media organized under National Press Club, Islamabad (2011) and Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (2014) and UNIC (2017). As a result of 2014 convention, four seats for women journalists were reserved in the Governing Body of National Press Club.
